It is important now to learn how to practice on their own. The lesson is divided into sections consisting of the fundamentals of playing the instrument, as this will give the student the foundation to progress to whatever musical style he/she is drawn. Ear training and theory is an important part of the lesson.

Performing jazz and pop songs keep the interest and diversify the student’s interest. Some musicians have had the longest and most fruitful practice during these years. This is a great time to dabble in playing with a jazz combo or big band. If the students is ready, he/she will start reading jazz solo transcriptions. Solo piano arrangements in different rhythmic feels are played.
